The Skaneateles Library hosted historian Tom Henry on Thursday evening, November 21, 2013. In his illustrated talk at the library, Henry illuminated the dark record of Civil War prisons, both North and South, primarily Elmira and Andersonville. Henry, who retired from teaching social studies at Liverpool High School in 2009, has taught as an adjunct professor of history at SUNY Cortland and Syracuse University. Since 1997, he has written for the education division of Colonial Williamsburg and serves as a master teacher in their “Idea of America” program. Tom was entertaining, enlightening and inspiring, and we were lucky to have him here.
