The Mottville Chair

Sinclair 1865.JPG

My thanks to everyone who joined us on Tuesday evening at the Creamery Museum for Brian Ackles’ demonstration of chair caning & restoration and my very brief talk on how Mottville came to be the home of the F.A. Sinclair chair.

  1. I bought a rare all-original Simclair chaise at an auction in Gray, Maine, caning and finiish intact in very good condition. It has the FW Sinclair stamp and Mottville NY on the left arm. I grew up in Skaneateles so I knew about the Mottville chair factory. I have been considering donating it to the Skan historical society. Would you like me to send a photo?
