Boat Museum Opens

Saturday, July 2nd, at 1 p.m., there was a ribbon-cutting at The Creamery, 28 Hannum Street, the museum of the Skaneateles Historical Society, followed by the opening of the new wing hosting boats made in Skaneateles. The exhibit includes the famous Lightning #1 sailboat, on loan from Mystic Seaport, although I personally am partial to the wooden rowboats, with the Three Sisters boat as centerpiece, which are as beautiful as anything ever made from wood.
